We arrived here yesterday from Pleasent Lake, a county park near Glendale AZ. We stayed there for a week but all the roads we wanted to investigate for rocking were closed. A lot of rain made that whole area so green & lush looking-not at all the desert I expected. Ocotillo finally looked alive.

Here it has been warmer after only a day. We are all set up and ready to search for some rock and just kick back and do some work for me & RELAX. I need to get some projects done and we’ll ride bikes I am sure..

I took these sun dog pictures in El Centro and just now getting them on here. I can be a bit slow some times but I have been trying to clean up the pix on my puter-its getting too full. I got an 8GB plug in drive for them. I need more space!

I had never seen this form in the sky before and it was so neat watching them form and suddenly just diasapper. It is so wonderful what mother nature gives us to see-I keep saying that but it is so very true. We get these incredible light shows, at daytime and dusk.

We walked the wash a bit today and found some stuff to tumble. I did find a carnelian agate-only 1. It is nice when the ground/desert gives something up for us to work with. I cleansed this area. When I do I use my sage and just think of earth, wind, sun, fire. I also give thanks for giving us a comfy home and positively give the earth some energy for staying healthy and happy. I somethimes find myself forming these thoughts while using the sage in the form of a cross but I don’t mean it to be religious. It is a comfortable motion for my arm and seems so natural.

What a gorgeous day today. Took the dogs for a short ride just around where we are camped. We didn’t want to torture Timmy any more. He seems to be fine with running again now. We then decided to go out looking for some more rock…a distant hill looked promising so off we went. We found some rather interesting things today as it turned out. The hill we thought would be covered with small agates or jasper was actually more limestone and Coral! We found some excellent specimens of ancient coral, fossil sea floor-you can see the ancient cracks in the dried up limestone. We also a few pieces of what we think is Galena. All in all it made for an interesting hike.

While out hiking we found lots of Ocotillo that is really happy it has rained and is green, lush and starting to bloom its beautiful red blossoms.

It is very strange to see the desert being so green. It isn’t as green here as it was at Lake Pleasent but there are small green plants coming up everywhere…lots of food for the bunnies we have seen and the Ocotillo are really quite something.
