Pismo Beach

We arrived here a few days ago to sunny weather and a beautiful beach. It is so quiet in town, not nearly as many people going south this winter. We have noticed the RV parks being half empty, many stores in tiny Grover Beach closing and just an overall sense of quietness. On a nice note diesel prices are coming down, but maybe people chose to stay home this year because of the economic forecast being so dismal. Even the Monarch butterflies are down this year(by about 5,000) at yesterdays count. That is an amazing work of nature to see if you haven’t seen it before. The Eucalyptus trees are drenched in orange and brown from the Monarch’s wintering here.

Today we have decided it is a nice day to drive around and visit some of the local sites, perhaps visit a vineyard and generally play tourista.
