Happy Thanksgiving

What am I thankful for this year? Probably first and foremost is that I am healthy and happy and I feel a genuine hope for this country after our recent election. I shall not preach politics but it is time we turn this country around. I am profoundly proud of a lot of young americans who voted for the first time so Senator Obama could get elected. Over Thanksgiving dinner one of the guests was a 29 year old man who said this was his first time voting (he was ashamed to admit it he said), because he felt it was his generations responsibility  to step up to the plate and do the right thing! Perhaps this charismatic, well educated, yet brought up humble man can instill a sense of responsibility in our youth-something I do believe has been lacking for awhile. There has been a sense of entitlement that just seems out of line.

I am thankful my brother, who had to have a kidney removed the day before Thanksgiving, came through his surgery safely and the whole family is hoping it will be a non-cancerous tumor that was removed.

I am thankful that my husband and I got to enjoy the company of our friends and good food for there are so many in the world who have nothing.

I am especially thankful that today was a beautiful day for a bike ride and that I was able to do it! 3 years ago I would not have been so fortunate. I realized today I am about to celebrate 2 years of being on my Copaxone and what an incredible difference it has made in my life.

I am also thankful for having the talent and time to make a necklace for my new step-grandaughter.

When I read back over this I realize there is nothing more I want or need than my family and friends to make me happy and thankful!
